"We evaluate each customer and each of their pets needs on an individual basis."
Since we truly are an Independent installer, we do not represent any single manufacturer of dog containment equipment. Hence, we are not obligated to push any certain products. We evaluate each customer and each of their pets needs on an individual basis. We take into consideration factors such as breed, age, weight, temperament, as well as each dogs physical surroundings. We also consider where each owner would like their pets to have access to and also "not" have access to. Based upon these factors, we rely on our years of experience to select and recommend the best systems for each owner and their pets.
OUR HISTORY
Ed, the owner-operator of Pittsburgh Pet Fence, worked as a pre-sales software engineer for a major software company (recently acquired by IBM) for close to 20 years. In 2007, he was asked by his company to relocate to Boston as his Pittsburgh-based position was being eliminated. His love for the city of Pittsburgh, its sport teams as well as being close to his family and friends made him hesitate in accepting the relocation. When his mother's health had taken a turn for the worse, it cemented his gut feeling and helped him to make a bold "life" decision to stand up to Corporate America, shed his golden handcuffs and leave the corporate world. His mother passed away 12 months to the day of his last day as a corporate employee, and he knew he had made the right decision to leave. He began installing pet fences in 2008 for himself and for a few friends. He quickly realized his interest in protecting dogs, working with his hands, learning the latest technologies, all while enjoying the great outdoors was becoming a passion for him. He was able to transfer his skill set as a teacher, consultant, and technology expert to the electronic pet containment industry. Ed prides himself in doing an excellent job for all of his customers, and he does so with an enthusiastic attitude.
