On average, our simple training protocol requires two 10 minute sessions a day per dog for approximately 3 - 10 days. Some dogs learn within just a few days.
Will Your Stimulation Hurt My Dog?
No. Proper use of electronic fence technology is very important. Low level stimulation has a calming effect while high levels of stimulation can overwhelm a dog and should only be used in emergency situations. Our BLUNT Stimulation is similar to a medical device called a Muscle Stimulator or Muscle Contractor used by Doctors to re-educate muscles, relieve muscle spasms, increase range of motion, prevent muscle atrophy, and treat conditions resulting from a stroke. It leaves no marks or residual pain and promotes compliance through muscle control of the dog's neck. This type of Blunt Stimulation is much more effective and causes much less stress to the dog during the learning process than traditional narrow pulse or sharp stimulations. Pittsburgh Pet Fence uses the very best specialized equipment in our industry that minimizes any damage to homeowners' lawns. A very thin 1/4" groove is made in your lawn to bury the wire. Unlike other installers, Pittsburgh Pet Fence, spends extra time to make sure this groove is re-filled and manicured in a very meticulous fashion. We pride ourselves with our clean and neat installs. Most home owners can't even notice where we installed the wire at the end of our installation day.
Are There Any Hidden Costs With Your System?
No. The price you get from us is the final price . . . period! Pittsburgh Pet Fence uses Rechargeable collars that come with a limited lifetime warranty. This means you do not have to be burdened with buying and stocking expensive batteries to keep your collars running. Our competitors try to put you on a battery plan and can charge up to $84 per year per dog for batteries. That comes out to $1,260 over 15 years. For two dogs, the extra cost can go up to $2,520 extra just for batteries. That expense is just not necessary. How Will I Know If My Collar Is Charged And Working Correctly?
Our collars are unique in that they have a status light that will blink green when your collar is between 60-100% charged, Amber when it is 20-60% charged, and red when it is below 20% and needs to be charged. Most other systems being sold either have no light, or they have a "low-battery" light which only flashes for a few days when the collar is really low, then stops flashing when battery is completely drained (leaving you a 50-50 chance of the collar working if the light is not flashing).
